Manifesto
STOCKHOLM! project emerges as the sister organisation of PRAHO! project in Prague. We believe that connecting two cities, two cultures, and two communities creates a unique space for new ways of collaboration. Stockholm is our home, our laboratory, and our open playground where art, society, and everyday life intertwine.
Our City
We see Stockholm as a living organism. Its streets, parks, and public spaces are not a backdrop but an active co-creator of social life. By placing art into these shared spaces, we open dialogue, trigger empathy, and create moments where people meet across differences. The city itself becomes an interlocutor, a mediator of encounters.
Our Participation
Participation is not a method – it is our principle. We believe that just as a book is not complete without a reader, art is not complete without those who engage with it. Art that stands alone remains unfinished. Only when people enter it with their voices, stories, and presence does it become whole.
We follow the legacy of movements that demanded active audiences rather than passive spectators. From the Parisian Groupe de Recherche d’Art Visuel to the Latin American Un arte social, we affirm: art should never exclude. We create open frameworks where individuals become co-authors, and collective voices form a mosaic that reflects society as it really is – contradictory, fragile, and deeply human.
Our Principles
- Equality and inclusion – we foster environments where everyone is welcome, regardless of origin, gender, faith, or identity.
- Transparency and trust – we work openly and fairly, building relationships grounded in respect.
- International collaboration – we connect Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Europe, and local communities – schools, associations and municipal districts – convinced that the future of culture is shared.
- Sustainability – ecological, social, and digital sustainability is the foundation of responsible artistic work.
Our Path
Our work is rooted in the conviction that art can be both poetic and political. We are interested in how art can illuminate urgent questions: our relationship to the city, to nature, and to one another. We embrace anonymous intimacy, collective memory, and the belief that ordinary voices can transform public space into a platform for social change.
Our practice combines poetic artistic gestures with a practical, long-term approach: creating installations in public space, gathering and analysing public testimonies, and returning the insights to the community, using both analogue and digital tools.
Our Commitment
STOCKHOLM! project is an open platform. We bring art into the streets, we connect people, we listen to their stories, and together we shape a new understanding of public space. We believe that shared creation and active participation are the paths toward a more sustainable, just, and compassionate world.
