The 25th of March was an important day for STOCKHOLM! project. Not only did we welcome a very special visit from Helsinki, but we also opened our first public installation in Stockholm.

Our guests were Nuppu and Sanna from Helsingin aikuisopisto (The Institute of Adult Education in Helsinki), who visited us within the framework of a grant from Kulturfonden för Sverige och Finland.

As part of this collaboration, we had the opportunity to bring to life our first installation in Stockholm — a mural titled Public Sentences, created in collaboration with artist Jonna from VAAF Studio.

The installation presents six questions for reflection, both in Swedish and English, as we place strong emphasis on accessibility and inclusion. Attached markers invite passersby to respond directly on the wall, turning the space into a site of shared expression.

In this way, public space becomes a tool for learning — both introspective (discovering something new about oneself) and relational (learning about others through their responses).

We are deeply grateful to Subtopia for their support and for providing the space, to VAAF Studio for the artistic collaboration, and to Nuppu and Sannu for the shared work on the grant. Together, we spent a meaningful day that included not only the opening of the installation, but also a workshop we facilitated on participation in public space and learning through offline interactive walls, as well as an inspiring tour of Subtopia and a wonderful visit to the Kulturhuset Library.

Last but not least, thank you to everyone who came to the opening and shared their thoughts with us. Keep looking around, more is to come.

The project is realised with support from Kulturfonden för Sverige och Finland.
